The Outlander by Gil Adamson

It is 1903 and Mary Boulton is on the run. This engaging novel tells the story of a young woman who murders her husband and must escape from civilization, pursued by her late husband's twin brothers. Alone, desperate, and not entirely sane, Mary encounters many strange characters as she makes her way through the Canadian wilderness.

Readers who enjoyed this book also enjoyed: The Last Crossing by Guy Vanderhaeghe, King Leary by Paul Quarrington, and Amphibian by Carla Gunn.
