Leela's Book by Alice Albinia

Leela is returning to Delhi after over twenty years in New York. Leela was driven away after an affair between Vyasa, an arrogant manipulator, and her sister. This time, however, Leela has the god Ganesh on her side. This playful novel intertwines Indian mythology with life in modern-day Delhi.

Readers who enjoyed this book also enjoyed: King of the Badgers by Philip Hensher, The Quality of Mercy by Barry Unsworth, and A Cruel Bird Came to Nest and Looked In by Magnus Mills.
