Bring Up the Bodies

Bring Up the Bodies by Hilary Mantel, is the second part of a trilogy about Thomas Cromwell, chief minister to Henry VIII.  It is the sequel to the 2012 Man Booker prize winner Wolf Hall.
This story follows one of the men most instrumental in transforming Henry VIII and his reign, Thomas Cromwell , the man who dedicated his life to the study of the king and how to fulfill the latter's wishes and desires. The story covers only a nine month period but concentrates on the three weeks in which Henry's second wife, Anne Boleyn, is arrested, tried and executed for treason.  Fascinating perspective and read!  Reading Wolf Hall first allows a better understanding of the Tudor reign and Thomas Cromwell's early years.
