Sonoma Rose by Jennider Chiaverini


Rosa Diaz Barclay lives on a Southern California rye farm with an abusive husband and disengaged father, John. Mother to eight children, Rosa mourns the loss of four to a mysterious disease.  Although two daughters (born of another father - Lars Jorgenson) are in perfect health, her two younger children are experiencing the life threatening symptoms of celiac. John has always refuses to let Rosa seek medical help  to save them.Violence rips Rosa's world apart. Lars rescues them and their journey begins seeking good health, safety and family affection. Lars supports Rosa's daring plan to stake their futures on a struggling Sonoma Valley vineyard-despite Prohibition.
